Bromeliad

Bromeliads are resilient, no-fuss plants with colorful foliage. Native to the tropical Americas, most bromeliads develop a flower stalk that rises from the center of the plant, but only blooms once in their lifetime.

Care Instructions

Light

Like bright, indirect light, but can also survive in lower light conditions, especially in the case of bromeliads with soft, flexible, spineless leaves.

Temperature

Best kept at room temperatures between 60°F and 80°F.

Watering

These plants hold water in their center tank. Water  by filling the tank and waiting until the tank is almost empty before watering again. Water minimally in cooler, darker months.

Fertilizing

Bromeliads require little fertilizing. Occasionally you will want to use a water soluble fertilizer.

Additional Notes

Cats love to chew on Bromeliad's crunchy leaves but the good news is that these plants are considered non-toxic. Bromeliads are air purifying.
